Electrolysis Related Questions

Answer

Yes, all our staff members that perform electrolysis treatments on our patients are certified Texas electrologists.

Answer

Yes, electrolysis can definately help if you suffer from ingrown hairs or folliculitus problems.

Answer

Yes, makeup may be used after your electrolysis treatments. New makeup is recommended to help reduce the possibility of infection.

Answer

No, you can't tweeze or wax yours hairs in between electrolysis treatments. This would mean your hairs would not be visible when you come in for your electrolysis treatments. You may still trim your hair with scissors, shave or bleach them if you like.

Answer

Yes, absolutely we use disposable, one-time use only, needles and a surgical grade autoclave for the tweezers we use to slide the hair out with each electrolysis treatment.

Answer

Not really, but again everyone's pain tolerance is different. Most people say it feels similar to when they tweeze out their own hair at home. Topical anesthetics can be used to make the electrolysis process more comfortable, if you like.

Answer

Very simply you will notice a big difference in your hair re-growth. You will notice there are fewer hairs growing back , the area will be less dense, the re-growth will be finer and softer.

Answer

Blend Electrolysis is one of the three different types of electrolysis styles practiced by electrologists around the world. The Blend Electrolysis method tries to combine the benefits of both Galvanic and Thermolysis electrolysis methods by passing an AC and a DC current through the needle at the same insertion.

Answer

Galvanic Electrolysis is one of the three different types of electrolysis styles practiced by electrologists around the world. Galvanic Electrolysis is when a DC current passes through the needle, causing a chemical reaction in the hair follicle. This chemical reaction produces sodium hydroxide, also know as lye, which destroys the hair follicle.

Answer

Thermolysis Electrolysis is one of the three different types of electrolysis styles practiced by electrologists around the world. Thermolysis Electrolysis is when a AC (or short wave) current passes through the needle causing vibration in the water molecules surrounding the hair follicle which produces heat. (Similar to the principle behind a microwave oven.) The heat damages the hair follicle. This method is much faster than Galvanic or Blend in that larger areas can be cleared at one treatment. Also, it is considered the most comfortable method.

Laser Hair Removal Related Questions

Answer

No, we strongly recomend you don't tweeze or wax between your laser hair removal treatments. Trimming your hair with scissors or shaving between laser hair removal treatments is the best protocol to use.

Answer

That depends. The only medications that are prohibited for laser hair removal treatments are Accutane and Retin-A, which must be discontinued prior to any laser hair removal treatments. Sun sensitizing medications and St. John's Wart may require additional test spots. During your free hair removal consultation, we’ll go over any medications or supplements that your currently taking to help determine the appropriate steps to take. It's also always smart to consult with your doctor before any laser hair removal treatment.

Answer

Makeup may be used after your laser hair removal treatments. New makeup is recommended to help reduce the possibility of infection.

Answer

Yes anything is possible. Like getting attacked by a shark in the ocean, struck by lighting or someone die's undergoing a routine almost no-risk-at-all surgery when put under general anesthesia (it happens everyday somewhere in the world). Bottomline ANY laser procedure  with ANY laser in ANY industry can possibly cause scarring, and this is included as a potential risk on most consent forms you will sign prior to your laser hair removal treatment.

However, the risk of scarring from laser hair removal is very rare (otherwise the FDA would not had approved the LightSheer Diode Laser for laser hair removal) and is a function of many things including: The experience, skill, knowledge and training of the laser hair removal specialist, your particular ability to heal from laser hair removal treatments, the type of laser your using (we recommend FDA approved lasers only) and the amount of melanin pigment in your skin.

Answer

Yes, laser hair removal treatments can definitely help you if you suffer from ingrown hairs or folliculitus problems.

Answer

In short it doesn't exactly tickle and feel good. Don't let other laser hair removal centers fool you with lies and hype. It's next to impossible to tell you how the laser will feel on your body, since every single person has a different pain threshold and reaction to the laser. Many people say it feels a lot like getting a tattoo, others say it feels like being snapped by a rubber band and others say they can barely feel the laser at all. Topical anesthetics are sometimes used to make the laser hair removal treatments more comfortable and it's possible (you would have to ask them) your doctor could prescribe you a mild pain killer as well for the laser hair removal treatments. Please don't come in drunk though, if you think that will help with your pain tolerance. This isn't a tattoo parlor after all.Tongue out

Answer

That depends on many different factors, sorry there is no one size fits all answer. One of the biggest advantages of laser hair removal is the pure speed of the laser hair removal treatment process in combination with the long lasting permanent results. For example, to remove excessive hair from your back with laser hair removal usually takes about an hour or so depending your body size. In stark contrast, a full back electrolysis hair removal treatment process can take up to and over 225 hours! WOW!

Answer

To be completely honest there is no definitive answer anyone can tell you, if someone does try to tell you an exact answer there plain old lying to you. What we can say with the decade of laser hair removal experience we've had with thousands of hair removal patients as well as numerous case studies from the laser manufacturer is this...Six laser hair removal treatments can reduce 80-90% of your body hair if your the best case candidate having both dark hair and light skin or complexion. Client results will always vary with their hair color, skin tone, harmone levels, age, exposure to sun, hereditary, etc.

Answer

That depends on many different factors such as heredity, physiological changes, malfunctions of the endocrine system, medication, topical influences, stress, what your looking to achieve, what area of the body you want treated, etc. Click here to see our current Texas laser hair removal pricing page.

Answer

There is no laser in the world that has received FDA clearance for a claim of permanent hair removal. However,
the Light Sheer Diode Laser was the first to be cleared by the FDA for permanent hair reduction. That is defined by the FDA as 85% or greater hair reduction. It is possible that follicles in the treated area, while not being completely destroyed, will be sufficiently disabled to the point where they produce only very fine, light hairs that do not respond to further laser hair removal treatment. This is backed up by several years of extensive clinical studies and you should be wary of anyone or laser hair removal advertisement that claims otherwise.
